Job Description
About Us
Base360.ai is the AI operating system for short-term rental businesses, helping property managers run their operations on autopilot.
Born out of The Flex, a short-term rental operator that scaled to an eight-figure business using its own software, Base360.ai is now launching as a standalone platform for short-term rental operators worldwide.
We bring reservations, guest communication, pricing, payments, cleaning, maintenance, and reporting into one platform—helping operators automate manual work, reduce costs, increase revenue, and scale their portfolios.
We're looking for an ambitious Senior Full-Stack Product Engineer who wants to turn real customer problems into intuitive, reliable software. You'll work closely with founders, designers, and operators to identify what matters, build solutions, and improve them based on how people use them.
If you enjoy owning the full journey from customer problem to shipped product—and you're excited by AI, automation, and short-term rentals—we want to meet you.
What You'll Build
As a Senior Full-Stack Product Engineer, you'll help shape and scale Base360.ai across the entire short-term rental lifecycle.
You'll build customer-facing features, operational dashboards, automation engines, AI-powered workflows, and integrations that help property managers grow without increasing their workload at the same rate.
Your work will connect what users see with the systems behind it—from a guest’s check-in experience to the workflows coordinating reservations, cleaning, payments, and owner reporting.
Your Mission
Understand Customer Problems
Work directly with property managers and internal teams to understand their workflows, identify friction, and decide which problems are worth solving.
Build Products End-to-End
Take features from idea and prototype through frontend, backend, integrations, testing, and deployment. Own the complete experience and how it performs in production.
Create Intuitive User Experiences
Work with designers to make complex short-term rental operations easy to manage. Build interfaces that help users complete tasks quickly and confidently.
Create Powerful Automations
Build event-driven workflows that eliminate repetitive work—from scheduling cleaning after a booking to sending check-in instructions and generating owner statements.
Develop AI-Powered Features
Use LLMs and AI agents to automate guest communication, triage maintenance requests, support pricing decisions, and help operators manage their portfolios more efficiently.
Connect the Ecosystem
Build reliable APIs and integrations with platforms including Airbnb, Hostaway, Stripe, Twilio, OpenAI, Google, and other partners across the short-term rental ecosystem.

๐ฏ Who is this job for?
This role is suitable for a Senior-level Full-Stack Product Engineer who can independently own features from customer discovery and prototyping through development, deployment, measurement, and iteration.
The candidate should have strong frontend and backend skills with React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI or similar technologies, plus experience with APIs, databases, integrations, cloud infrastructure, event-driven systems, AI/LLM features, and automation.
They should be familiar with building customer-facing SaaS products, operational dashboards, reliable third-party integrations, AI-powered workflows, and scalable systems while collaborating directly with founders, designers, and customers to solve ambiguous operational problems.
๐ฌ Potential Interview Questions
How would you design a multi-tenant architecture for Base360.ai using FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Supabase?
I would enforce tenant isolation at the database and application layers, typically using tenant identifiers, PostgreSQL row-level security, and authorization checks in FastAPI. I would also design indexes, connection management, and audit logging to support scale, security, and operational debugging.
How would you build a reliable reservation synchronization service for Airbnb, Hostaway, and other channel integrations?
I would use webhook-driven updates where available, supplemented by scheduled reconciliation jobs. Idempotent handlers, external event identifiers, retry policies, rate-limit handling, and conflict-resolution rules are essential to prevent duplicate or inconsistent reservations.
How would you design an event-driven workflow that schedules cleaning after a booking?
A reservation event would publish a durable message containing the property, reservation, and checkout details. A worker would create or update the cleaning task idempotently, schedule notifications, and route failures to retries and a dead-letter queue for investigation.
How would you prevent race conditions when updating availability and reservations?
I would use database transactions with appropriate locking or exclusion constraints to protect overlapping booking intervals. Idempotency keys and optimistic concurrency checks would ensure that repeated requests or simultaneous channel updates do not create double bookings.
How would you structure a React and TypeScript dashboard for complex property operations?
I would separate reusable UI components from domain-specific features and use strongly typed API contracts to reduce frontend-backend mismatches. Server-state management, clear loading and error states, filtering, pagination, and task-oriented workflows would keep the dashboard responsive and understandable.
How would you integrate OpenAI APIs into an AI-powered guest communication workflow?
I would combine structured reservation and property data with carefully scoped prompts, tool calling, and explicit business rules. The system should validate generated responses, protect sensitive data, support human review for uncertain cases, and log inputs, outputs, costs, and outcomes for evaluation.
How would you make an AI agent safe to use for operational tasks such as maintenance triage?
I would constrain the agent to approved tools and actions, validate every tool input, and require confirmation for high-impact operations. Confidence thresholds, escalation to staff, audit trails, and automated evaluations would reduce the risk of incorrect classifications or unauthorized actions.
How would you design Stripe payment flows for a multi-tenant SaaS platform?
I would use Stripe’s appropriate Connect or customer and subscription models, while storing only Stripe identifiers rather than sensitive payment details. Webhooks would be verified, processed idempotently, and reconciled against internal payment records so asynchronous events cannot corrupt financial state.
How would you deploy and operate a FastAPI application using AWS serverless infrastructure, Docker, and GitHub Actions?
I would containerize the service, run automated tests and security checks in GitHub Actions, and deploy immutable versions through staged environments. Infrastructure should include centralized logging, metrics, tracing, health checks, secrets management, alarms, and a rollback strategy.
How would you measure whether a newly shipped automation feature is successful?
I would define measurable outcomes before implementation, such as task completion time, automation rate, error rate, adoption, and support volume. Product analytics and customer feedback would be reviewed after launch, with experiments or iterative changes guided by actual operational impact.
