Job Description
🎯 Who is this job for?
This role is best suited for a Principal or Senior+ Full-Stack Engineer with 8+ years of experience building scalable SaaS platforms and leading complex technical initiatives end-to-end. The candidate should have deep expertise in React/Next.js, Node.js (Nest.js/Express), GraphQL, Docker, PostgreSQL, system design, distributed systems, and secure API integrations, with strong ownership in architecture, mentoring, performance optimization, and production reliability. They should be comfortable working autonomously in a high-trust remote environment and ideally have experience with analytics dashboards, ML-powered systems, event-driven architectures, CI/CD, and security-sensitive applications.
💬 Potential Interview Questions
-
How would you design a scalable multi-tenant SaaS architecture?
I would isolate tenant data securely, design services for horizontal scalability, and use strategies like tenant-aware authentication, rate limiting, and configurable deployments for both cloud and on-prem environments. -
What are the advantages and tradeoffs of CQRS and event sourcing?
CQRS separates read and write operations for scalability and flexibility, while event sourcing stores state changes as events for auditability and replayability. The tradeoff is increased architectural complexity and operational overhead. -
How would you optimize a React/Next.js application handling large real-time datasets?
I would use virtualization, memoization, efficient state management, incremental rendering, WebSockets or streaming where appropriate, and optimize network payloads to maintain responsiveness. -
What considerations are important when integrating LLMs or ML prediction services into production systems?
Key concerns include latency, reliability, cost management, prompt validation, security, rate limiting, observability, and ensuring sensitive data is handled safely. -
How do you approach backend API architecture in large-scale systems?
I focus on modular service boundaries, clear contracts, scalability, observability, fault tolerance, and maintainable abstractions while balancing business needs with long-term flexibility. -
How would you secure sensitive behavioral or analytics data in a SaaS platform?
I would enforce encryption in transit and at rest, RBAC, audit logging, least-privilege access, tenant isolation, and compliance-aware retention policies. -
What strategies do you use to improve system reliability and incident response?
I rely on monitoring, alerting, structured logging, health checks, rollback strategies, postmortems, and automated recovery workflows to minimize downtime and improve resilience. -
How would you design a GraphQL API for scalability and maintainability?
I would use schema modularization, batching and caching techniques like DataLoader, strict authorization rules, query complexity limits, and strong typing/documentation practices. -
How do you decide when to introduce abstractions in frontend or backend systems?
I introduce abstractions only when patterns are stable and repeated enough to justify them. Premature abstraction can increase complexity and reduce development speed. -
What qualities are most important when leading engineering initiatives in a high-trust remote team?
Strong ownership, clear communication, technical decision-making, mentoring, and the ability to balance speed with long-term maintainability are critical for success in distributed engineering teams.
