Job Description

At Terrific, every role directly impacts how we grow from product to revenue to customer experience. We’re building the next generation of social commerce through live shopping powered by real-time data and AI.

And we believe customer data should belong to the brands who earn it — not third-party platforms.

About Terrific

Terrific is a social commerce platform that helps retailers, eCommerce brands and media companies grow revenue with live, interactive, shoppable experiences on their own websites and apps. Our platform runs in real time for brands, retailers and media groups across Latin America, Europe and Israel, and turns those moments into measurable sales.

$2,000 - $3,000 a month

Your impact

  • Turn viewers into buyers. Build the carousels, players and live experiences that millions of shoppers see, where every second of load time affects sales.
  • Keep it live, 24/7. Make our product fast and reliable on customers’ sites, so a live event never breaks in front of their audience.
  • Get customers live faster. Improve integrations, SDKs and embeds with platforms like Shopify, Tiendanube and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Prove that it works. Strengthen the tracking, attribution and reporting that show customers the revenue we bring them.
  • Build once, scale to many. Create configurable solutions instead of one-off builds, so every feature serves every customer.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of development experience, with a strong frontend focus.
  • React and TypeScript at a senior level; Node.js, GCP and Firebase when needed.
  • Experience shipping and debugging features in production.
  • Autonomy, good judgment and clear communication in a remote team.
  • Professional English.
  • Big plus: experience in media, advertising or ad tech.

Why Terrific

  • Be part of a pioneer. We’re shaping how brands sell through live and shoppable video on their own sites, a category that is still being built.
  • Grow with us in LATAM. We’re expanding our team and customer base in the region, and you’ll be one of the people building it.
  • Work with a global team. Collaborate every day with teammates in Israel, Europe, the US and Latin America.
  • Learn and grow fast. Real ownership from day one, a modern stack, and a senior team that shares what it knows.
  • Keep learning. Access to training and AI tools to keep sharpening your skills.

Compensation

USD 2,000–3,000 per month, depending on experience. Full-time independent contractor engagement.

Required:

  • Deep experience in at least one of Terrific’s three commercial pillars — eCommerce, Marketing, or Media — and enough fluency across the other two to contribute credibly from day 1.
  • Terrific operates as a global company, and English is our primary business language. As such, all roles require fluency in written and spoken English.

Be part of the change that’s quietly reshaping how people discover and buy online.

Please note: We review every application carefully. While we may not be able to respond to everyone, we will reach out to candidates whose experience aligns with what we’re building.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. 🎯 Who is this job for?

This role is suitable for a Senior Full Stack Developer with a strong frontend focus and 5+ years of professional experience.

The candidate should have advanced skills in React and TypeScript, working knowledge of Node.js, GCP, and Firebase, professional English proficiency, and experience in eCommerce, marketing, media, or ad tech.

They should be familiar with building, integrating, debugging, and scaling production-grade live commerce interfaces, SDKs, embeds, tracking and attribution systems, and reliable customer-facing features in a remote environment.

💬 Potential Interview Questions

How would you architect a React and TypeScript live-shopping player that supports real-time interactions, product carousels, and configurable customer branding?

I would separate the player, interaction, commerce, and theming concerns into composable components with strongly typed interfaces. I would use a state management strategy suited to real-time updates, lazy-load noncritical features, and expose configuration through a stable SDK or embed API.

How would you optimize the frontend performance of a shoppable video experience embedded on a customer’s website?

I would minimize the initial bundle, use code splitting and lazy loading, optimize media delivery, and avoid blocking the host page. I would also measure Core Web Vitals, monitor third-party script impact, and use caching and prefetching carefully around likely user interactions.

How would you design a real-time event system for live inventory, product updates, chat, and viewer interactions?

I would use WebSockets or a managed real-time service such as Firebase, with typed event schemas, reconnection handling, heartbeats, and idempotent client updates. The UI should degrade gracefully when connectivity is lost and reconcile state when the connection is restored.

How would you build an embeddable SDK that works reliably across Shopify, Tiendanube, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and custom websites?

I would define a small, versioned public API and isolate the embed from the host page using careful namespace management or an iframe where appropriate. The SDK should support configuration, lifecycle events, authentication, backward compatibility, error reporting, and platform-specific adapters.

How would you implement reliable conversion tracking and attribution for live-commerce interactions?

I would generate stable session and interaction identifiers, track events such as impressions, clicks, add-to-cart, and purchases, and persist attribution data across the shopping journey. Events should be deduplicated, timestamped, validated, and sent through a resilient pipeline that supports retries and consent requirements.

How would you debug a production issue where a live shopping experience fails only on certain customer websites?

I would first compare browser, device, platform, network, and embed configuration differences using centralized logs, session replay, and frontend monitoring. I would reproduce the issue in an isolated test page, inspect console and network errors, validate host-page conflicts, and deploy a narrowly scoped fix with regression coverage.

How would you use Node.js, GCP, and Firebase to support a highly available live-commerce platform?

I would use Node.js services for APIs and event processing, GCP for scalable deployment, observability, storage, and networking, and Firebase where managed authentication, real-time synchronization, or analytics provides a clear advantage. Services should include timeouts, retries with backoff, health checks, structured logging, and alerting.

How would you design a configurable product carousel that can serve different brands without creating one-off implementations?

I would create a schema-driven component with configurable layout, product fields, actions, responsive behavior, and theme tokens. Validation, sensible defaults, feature flags, and contract tests would ensure that new customer configurations remain compatible with the shared implementation.

How would you ensure a live event remains reliable for millions of viewers?

I would identify critical paths, isolate failures, and use CDN delivery, caching, autoscaling, rate limiting, and graceful degradation for nonessential features. I would continuously test load and failure scenarios, monitor latency and error budgets, and prepare operational runbooks for incidents during live events.

How would you approach testing a React and TypeScript feature that affects video playback, shopping actions, and revenue reporting?

I would combine unit tests for state and business logic, component tests for user interactions, contract tests for APIs and SDKs, and end-to-end tests for the complete purchase flow. I would also test reconnects, duplicate events, slow networks, browser compatibility, accessibility, and analytics accuracy in staging and production.
