Job Description
Sumsub is the first AI-powered trust infrastructure for compliance operations at scale. It connects identity and business verification, fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, and risk workflows, helping teams reduce manual work and enter new markets.
Trusted by over 4,000 clients across financial services, crypto, mobility, trading, marketplaces, education, and iGaming, including Bybit, Bitpanda, Wirex, Avis, Vodafone, Duolingo, and Kaizen Gaming.
Sumsub is recognized as a Great Place To Work® in the US and rated 4.5 out of 5 on Glassdoor. Our 1,000+ people around the world back it up, too: 92% are proud to be Sumsubers, and 90% say their work is interesting and challenging.
Now we are looking for a Frontend Developer (Next.js / TypeScript) to build and optimize sumsub.com and its core acquisition funnels. This role is an exciting opportunity to own end-to-end web initiatives and bring fresh engineering ideas to life on a modern React 19 / Next.js stack.
What You Will Be Doing:
-
Build campaign, event and ABM landing pages, product launches, and product and industry pages
-
Own forms and funnels: the lead journey from form to HubSpot, email validation, meeting booking via Calendly
-
Launch localized versions of the site for new markets
-
Run A/B tests and improve performance (Core Web Vitals) and SEO
-
Spend about 30% of your time on server-side work inside Next.js: API routes, third-party API integrations, caching and revalidation (ISR, Redis)
About You:
-
Core Frontend Expertise: Strong React and TypeScript skills, with solid hands-on Next.js experience across SSG, ISR, and SSR.
-
Server-Side Competence: Practical Node.js experience, including REST API integrations, error handling, and retries.
-
End-to-End Ownership: Proven autonomy to take a task from an initial marketing request all the way to production independently.
-
Proactive Mindset: A proactive thinker who generates and defends new ideas and improvements rather than just executing tasks.
-
Data & Compliance Care: A diligent and responsible approach to handling user data and tracking in a regulated KYC/AML environment.
Nice to have:
-
Next.js App Router: Hands-on experience with App Router (our newer projects use it).
-
Headless CMS & GraphQL: Practical familiarity with headless CMS platforms (WordPress, Payload) and GraphQL.
-
CRMs & Analytics: Experience working with HubSpot (or other CRMs), along with tracking and experimentation tools (VWO, GA4, GTM).
What We Offer:
-
Remote-first, trust-based culture. Work from the place that works best for you. No mandatory office days, no attendance trackers. In some locations, we provide offices or coworking spaces, but the choice is yours.
-
True flexibility. We do not fix you to a 9-to-5 schedule. You can adjust your working hours when needed, as long as your day stays productive and in sync with the team.
-
Extra time off. Your birthday is a holiday here. Add to that 10 personal days each year, seven sick days without paperwork, and extra time to enjoy Christmas and New Year. Time to rest is part of the deal.
-
Work that matters. Our mission is to build a digital world that is secure, accessible and inclusive for everyone. From fighting fraud to making online services easier and safer to use, your work will have a real impact on how people experience trust online.
-
Compensation. We offer fair and transparent pay, benchmarked to the market.
-
Truly global. We work across continents and time zones, with teammates and customers from all over the world. You will run campaigns that cross borders, cultures, and languages, and see your ideas land worldwide.
-
Growth built in. Clear goals, open feedback and personal development plans. We support your progress with learning opportunities and by covering role-specific events, from design conferences to marketing forums.
-
Celebrating your big moments. We are proud to support you through life’s biggest journeys with dedicated financial bonuses for both marriage and welcoming a new baby to your family.
-
Team offsites. Sometimes just Slack is not enough. That is why we meet in person a few times a year. Trips are fully covered, so you can meet, collaborate, and recharge together.
-
Getting you set up. We make sure you have access to the tools and hardware you need to do your work well.
-
Friendly by design. Our logo is a dog for a reason. We keep things human, open and kind. We welcome individuality, quirks and different perspectives, because that is what makes our work smarter and more fun.
The hiring stages: TA screening -> Hiring Manager Interview -> Final Interview.

๐ฏ Who is this job for?
This role is suitable for a Senior Frontend Developer with strong React, TypeScript, Next.js, and practical Node.js experience, ideally including SSG, ISR, SSR, and App Router. The candidate should be skilled in REST API integrations, performance optimization, SEO, A/B testing, analytics, CRM and CMS integrations, and handling user data responsibly in regulated environments. They should be comfortable independently delivering marketing pages, localized websites, product launches, lead-generation funnels, server-side features, and third-party integrations from concept to production.
๐ฌ Potential Interview Questions
1. How would you decide between SSG, SSR, and ISR for a marketing page in Next.js?
I would use SSG for stable pages, SSR when content depends on request-time data, and ISR for pages that change periodically but should remain highly cacheable. ISR is often a strong fit for CMS-driven marketing pages because it balances freshness and performance.
2. How would you structure a lead-generation form in React and TypeScript?
I would use controlled or schema-based form validation, strongly typed field models, clear loading and error states, and accessible form controls. Submission should be handled through a secure server-side endpoint that validates data again before sending it to HubSpot or other services.
3. How would you safely integrate a Next.js API route with HubSpot and Calendly?
I would keep API credentials on the server, validate and normalize incoming data, and call each service through a dedicated integration layer. The endpoint should handle timeouts, retries for transient failures, structured logging, and idempotency to avoid duplicate leads or bookings.
4. What caching and revalidation strategies would you use with Next.js and Redis?
I would cache expensive or frequently requested third-party responses using Redis with an appropriate TTL and clear invalidation rules. For page content, I would combine Next.js revalidation with cache tags or webhook-triggered invalidation so updates become visible without rebuilding the entire site.
5. How would you approach implementing an A/B test without negatively affecting SEO or Core Web Vitals?
I would avoid duplicating indexable content and ensure the canonical page remains stable for search engines. The experiment should load asynchronously where possible, prevent layout shifts, use consistent assignment, and measure both conversion metrics and performance impact.
6. Which Core Web Vitals would you monitor, and how would you improve them in Next.js?
I would monitor LCP, INP, and CLS using real-user monitoring and tools such as Lighthouse and CrUX. Improvements could include optimizing images and fonts, reducing JavaScript, server-rendering critical content, reserving layout space, and limiting third-party scripts.
7. How would you design a localized Next.js site for multiple markets?
I would define a clear locale and region routing strategy, use localized CMS content and metadata, and support translated navigation, forms, structured data, and SEO tags. I would also account for different consent requirements, date formats, validation rules, and fallback behavior.
8. How would you integrate a headless CMS or GraphQL API into a Next.js application?
I would create typed data-fetching functions that isolate CMS or GraphQL details from UI components. Queries should request only required fields, handle missing or malformed content safely, and use caching and revalidation appropriate to the content update workflow.
9. How would you ensure user data and marketing tracking are handled responsibly in a KYC/AML-related business?
I would minimize collected data, avoid exposing sensitive values in logs or analytics payloads, secure transport and server-side integrations, and apply consent requirements before tracking users. Access controls, retention policies, and clear separation between marketing data and sensitive verification data are also essential.
10. How would you debug a production issue where form submissions are intermittently failing?
I would trace the request across the browser, Next.js endpoint, validation layer, and external CRM or booking API using correlation IDs and structured logs. I would inspect response codes, timeouts, rate limits, and retry behavior, then add monitoring and safe fallback handling after identifying the root cause.
