🎯 Who is this job for?

This role is suitable for a Middle-level Frontend Engineer with 2–4 years of professional experience building production applications with React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Tailwind CSS.

The candidate should be skilled in responsive and accessible UI development, Figma implementation, state and data management, REST and real-time API integration, performance optimization, testing, and secure handling of sensitive data, with practical experience using AI coding tools.

They should be familiar with creating e-commerce pages, dashboards, portals, complex forms, conversational interfaces, reusable design-system components, Core Web Vitals improvements, and asynchronous workflows in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.

💬 Potential Interview Questions

1. How would you structure a Next.js application that serves both a high-performing e-commerce storefront and authenticated clinical dashboards?

I would separate public and authenticated areas through clear route groups, shared layouts, and reusable domain components. I would use server rendering or static generation for SEO-sensitive storefront pages, while using protected routes and client-side data fetching for interactive clinical workflows.

2. When would you use Server Components, Client Components, SSR, SSG, or ISR in Next.js?

I would prefer Server Components and static generation for content that does not require browser interactivity, such as marketing pages. I would use Client Components for forms, chat, animations, and interactive dashboards, with SSR or ISR when data must be fresh but still benefit from server-rendered performance.

3. How would you optimize Core Web Vitals for a Next.js storefront?

I would optimize images and fonts, minimize JavaScript sent to the browser, lazy-load noncritical content, and avoid layout shifts by reserving space for dynamic elements. I would monitor LCP, CLS, and INP using Lighthouse, field data, and performance monitoring tools.

4. How would you manage server state and client state in a complex React application?

I would use TanStack Query for server state, including caching, retries, mutations, and synchronization with REST APIs. I would use Zustand or Redux Toolkit for client-only state such as UI preferences, modal state, or multi-step workflow state, avoiding unnecessary duplication of server data.

5. How would you build a reliable multi-step healthcare form with asynchronous validation?

I would use a form library with a schema validator such as Zod, validate fields both locally and on the server, and persist progress carefully when appropriate. The UI should clearly represent loading, error, success, and retry states while preventing duplicate submissions and preserving user-entered data.

6. How would you implement a streaming AI chat interface in React?

I would consume a streaming response using the Fetch API, readable streams, or a suitable AI SDK, progressively updating the assistant message as tokens arrive. I would also handle cancellation, connection failures, partial responses, loading states, and safe rendering of returned content.

7. What security practices are important when building interfaces that handle protected health information?

I would avoid storing sensitive data in local storage or exposing it in URLs and client logs, enforce secure authentication and authorization, and use HTTPS with appropriate session controls. I would also minimize data displayed in the UI, prevent XSS, validate inputs, and follow HIPAA and SOC2 policies for auditing and access control.

8. How do you translate a Figma design into a reusable and accessible component system?

I identify repeated patterns, define component APIs and design tokens, and implement responsive behavior rather than hard-coding individual screens. I also ensure semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, visible focus states, sufficient contrast, and appropriate ARIA usage through automated and manual accessibility testing.

9. How would you test a React and Next.js feature before releasing it?

I would unit-test utilities and component behavior, use integration tests for forms and API interactions, and add end-to-end tests for critical flows such as sign-up, checkout, or patient intake. I would also verify accessibility, responsive layouts, error states, performance, and behavior across supported browsers.

10. How do you use AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude without reducing code quality?

I use AI tools for scaffolding, refactoring suggestions, test generation, and documentation, but I review every generated change for correctness, security, accessibility, and maintainability. I provide focused context, run tests and linters, inspect dependencies and data handling, and never treat generated code as a substitute for engineering judgment.
