We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated frontend engineer to help us build the next generation of financial products. As a dedicated frontend hire, you will gain ownership over our existing suite of web products, as well as the ability to influence the creation, design, and execution of future products. You will be responsible for ensuring a consistent, high-quality user experience across trading interfaces, data-heavy analytics pages, documentation portals and more.

We are headquartered in SoHo in New York City and this role has the option to be partially or fully remote.

Responsibilities

Consistently produce high quality code and well thought out architecture docs
Manage large, impactful projects staffed with several engineers with minimal day-to-day assistance from more senior engineers or managers
Rapidly implement functional UI elements from design mocks, with an eye toward performance and accessibility and ensure that components are functional, elegant, and performant
Know when to create abstractions vs. one-off features

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience
A deep understanding of the architecture of modern client-side React/React Native applications
A desire to keep up with modern best practices in web development

Nice to Have

Experience with Swift/Kotlin
Familiarity with the crypto features and concepts- candidates with no crypto experience are still welcome (encouraged!) to apply
Degree in computer science

Minimum full-time salary of $180,000-$226,000. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law. Full Time employees at Uniswap Labs are also eligible for other compensation elements, including tokens, and benefits, dependent on the position type.

How would you implement a data-heavy analytics dashboard in React?
I would focus on efficient data fetching, pagination or virtualization, responsive charts, caching strategies, and minimizing expensive renders to maintain smooth performance.
What are the advantages of server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG)?
SSR improves initial page load and SEO for dynamic content, while SSG provides fast performance and scalability for mostly static pages by pre-generating content at build time.
How do you approach collaboration with designers when implementing UI from mocks?
I clarify edge cases early, align on responsive behavior and accessibility expectations, and iterate quickly while maintaining consistency with the design system.
What challenges are unique to frontend development in crypto or DeFi applications?
Challenges include handling wallet connections, transaction states, blockchain latency, security considerations, and presenting complex financial data clearly to users.
How would you ensure reliability and code quality in a frontend engineering team?
I would encourage code reviews, automated testing, linting, type safety with TypeScript, CI/CD pipelines, and clear architectural documentation to maintain consistency and reliability.
