🎯 Who is this job for?

This position suits a Junior–Middle web developer with solid hands-on experience in React, WordPress, and Shopify who enjoys building responsive interfaces and translating UI/UX designs into polished, high-performing websites. It’s ideal for someone familiar with theme/plugin customization, frontend–backend integration, and SEO-focused optimization. The role fits developers comfortable working independently in a remote setup while collaborating with designers and content teams to deliver complete, user-friendly web experiences.

πŸ’¬ Potential Interview Questions

  1. How many years have you been working with React, WordPress, and Shopify?
I have a bit over 3 years of hands-on experience with React and WordPress, and around 3 years working with Shopify themes and customizations for marketing and e-commerce sites.

  2. What kinds of projects have you built with React?
Mostly marketing and product websites, landing pages, and dashboards where I implemented pixel-perfect UI from Figma, handled routing, state management, form handling, and integrated with REST APIs or headless CMS backends.

  3. What is your experience with WordPress theme and plugin customization?
I’ve customized child themes, created custom post types, built dynamic templates, worked with page builders and Gutenberg blocks, and used ACF for flexible content. I also handle performance tuning (caching, image optimization, minimizing plugins) and basic security hardening.

  4. How have you worked with Shopify in previous roles?
I’ve customized Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, built custom sections/blocks, adjusted product and collection templates, integrated third-party apps, and optimized pages for conversions, page speed, and mobile responsiveness.

  5. How do you turn a UI/UX design into a pixel-perfect, responsive React or WordPress front end?
I start by analyzing the design system, break it into reusable components, set up a responsive grid, implement typography and spacing tokens, then build and refine the layout with CSS/Flexbox/Grid and media queries, testing across devices until it matches the design closely.

  6. What do you usually do to improve performance and SEO for marketing sites?
I optimize images (compression, modern formats, lazy loading), minify and bundle assets, remove unused scripts/plugins, improve Core Web Vitals, structure content with proper headings/meta tags, implement clean URLs, schema where relevant, and ensure fast TTFB via caching.

  7. How comfortable are you integrating front-end components with APIs and backends?
Very comfortable: I consume REST/JSON APIs using fetch or Axios, handle loading/error states, manage auth tokens if needed, and map the data into reusable UI components while keeping the data-fetching logic separated from presentation.

  8. How do you handle cross-browser compatibility and responsive issues?
I develop mobile-first, test regularly in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, use modern CSS with sensible fallbacks, and rely on dev tools to debug layout/JS issues, adjusting styles or polyfills where necessary.

  9. What tools and workflows do you use when collaborating remotely with a marketing/agency team?
Git/GitHub for version control and code reviews, task tools like Jira/Trello, Figma for design handoff, and Slack/Meet/Zoom for daily communication. I keep my work transparent with regular updates, small commits, and quick responses to feedback.

  10. Why are you interested in this Web Developer role at Fyerx specifically?
It’s a good match for my mix of React, WordPress, and Shopify experience, and I enjoy agency work where I can ship many marketing sites, improve performance and SEO, and collaborate closely with designers and content teams while working fully remotely.
